C2c is pleased to announce the presentation of “color as form / form as color”, a group exhibition in our annex space, c2c/wc. Featured artists are Paul Behnke, Brent Hallard, Lauri Hopkins, Justyn Hegreberg, Rebecca Murtaugh, Erik Scollon, Elliot Anderson, Andrew McNay, and Ted Larsen. Each of these artists were selected based on the tendency of their practice to either use color as a means to indicate form within their work, or to use the structure of the work as a way to define evidence of color. The oscillation in this group of work, between color and form as the means of approaching the other as content, refuses to allow either aspect to assume a dominant role. Instead, through the context of this installation a tension of equilibrium is created that transcends materials, media, and scale. This dynamic enhances the viewing experience, revealing both the commonality and individual nuance within the range of work.
The show opens with a reception on Saturday, September 19 from 6-9pm and runs through October 18 with regular hours on Sundays from Noon – 5pm. It will run concurrently with Project 8 in the main space.
